casual summer style

While other places around the world may be starting to pull out their sweaters and autumnal colored pieces, Florida still feels like summer. The days are hot, there is usually rain at some point, and there it is not necessary to style your hair because 9 times out of 10, the humidity will take it upon itself to style it for you. This look is one of my go-to summer looks that requires minimal effort and styling!

We'll start with the shirt. The classic white tee. This is something that everyone needs in their wardrobe, regardless of what their style is. The one I chose is a loose fitting cotton top with shoulder cut out and little baby wannabe bell sleeves. I purchased this while I was in China so unfortunately I don't have a link for it but this is a similar top that I found from Forever 21. If this isn't your style, a white v neck from Hanes is timeless. If you are feeling a more vintage vibe or looking for a graphic tee, the Levi's Classic Ringer Tee is a great substitution.

To keep the look casual, I threw on the most comfortable pair of denim shorts that I have ever known. They are a high rise stretchy denim with a fold up hem. (helpful tip for all the big bottom girls like me: if you grab your self some fabric glue, you can glue the hem down in the back to it doesn't unroll!) I grabbed these in Light Indigo from Zara in a size 26. For $25, you really can't beat it.

Next up...SHOES!

I feel like everyone has their own casual tennis shoe brand that they always gravitate towards. For some it's Converse, others it's Vans, but for me (and Taylor Swift apparently) it's Keds. I have worn my white ones on all of my travels and they have never let me down or given me blisters. They don't have them on the Keds website anymore but I was able to find a pair on Amazon.

Ok these sunglasses though...the classic tortoise shell frames, with a modern gold arm, a vintage cateye shape...only Kate Spade can do it and steal my heart. What I also love about these glasses is that since there are no nose tabs on them, you can easily put them on your head and not worry about messing up that messy bun that we all secretly work so hard on. The earrings are also from Kate Spade are are their Mini Small Square Studs.

Now while it is really easy to lose track of time while lounging the day away in summer, it's a good idea to keep checking in on a gorgeous watch to see if happy hour has started yet. The team at Daniel Wellington sent this over for me to help 1. keep track of my busy schedule 2. look like I know what I'm doing and 3. style it as many ways as I can think of. This one is perfect for dressing up or dressing down. It is really easy to adjust and you can even purchase different bands to switch out. The Classic Petite Melrose is a great way to make your casual look seem like you put in a lot of effort! If you want, you can even get 15% off your next purchase using my discount code 'KALEY'. I do not get anything from you using the promo code, it is simply as a thank you for all of those you have been supporting me over the past few years!

And that's it! My very first fashion blog post :) Let me know what your favorite casual summer style pieces are and if there are any other looks you would like to see! I am really hoping to branch out with this side of the blog since I am back stateside and will not be traveling as much.

Thanks for all of your support!
